The Program

Northbridge Public Schools is dedicated to providing a quality meals program which supports lifelong healthy eating habits for all students. Each meal that is offered adheres to the requirements set forth by the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program.

Meal pricing remains the same as last year. Breakfast costs $1.50, lunch $2.50, reduced breakfast $.30, reduced lunch $.40 and the price of milk is $.50.

Look for the green free and reduced meal application being sent home today. The application is also available at Please complete and return this application. A new application must be approved each year.

Breakfast is offered daily to all students. At the Middle, Elementary, and Balmer schools, a “Grab N Go Breakfast” is available. Students will stop by the cafeteria and pick up their breakfast then go to their classrooms. At the High School a traditional breakfast is available at the early morning break.

The Northbridge Schools use the Nutri-Kids computerized cash register system at all schools. This program allows for payment convenience and anonymity for students that qualify for free or reduced meals. The program records data for the state and federal programs which finance reimbursable meals and allows us to comply with the “No Child Left Behind” regulations. By filling out the application you will help our schools qualify for additional grants and funding.

Pre-payments are strongly encouraged as this makes meal lines move more quickly. Students are allowed to charge on their account if they do not have money at the time of service. Re-payment is expected the next school day. The charging limit is $12.50 on all accounts. Weekly collection letters will be sent home with students. If payment is not received, the student will be given a cheese sandwich and milk when the balance exceeds $12.50.

Pre-payment checks should be payable to Northbridge School Food Service. Please include the student’s name, 5 digit number and remit to your child’s school. We would appreciate it if you would help your child learn his/her number as it never changes while he/she is in the school system.

Please do not hesitate to contact me at (508) 234-8163 or if you have any questions.
